Original design as a challenge to develop a opening box. When done, resembled one of the eyes of Bender. A co-worker said it looked like a Venus Fly trap, so named it "Venus Box".
A camera actuates 4 doors by rotating the spherical cover (or foundation). Remains securely closed or open. The entire thing, 4 inch diameter prints without supports, and snaps together.
Print Cam in 0.3 or lower, with two shells and 20 percent infill, no raft.
Print Cover with raft in 0.3 or lower, 2 shells, 20 percent infill.
Print the doors with raft in 0.2 or lower, with 3 shells and 20 percent infill.
NOTE: Reduce the triangular nuggets the door hinges off, they're only there to assist the construct.
These, posts go into the holes, do not snap .
If you print the Cam in 0.3, use sand paper, file or soldering iron to smooth out the stair steps on the 4 lower race faces (cam tracks) before assembling.
