It is a scaled up version of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:22051. To be able to print on the ultimaker I had to divide this in two stl files. Some people requested I upload the 2 stls for them to test out. So here it's...
Original file by Pranav Panchal, downloaded from GrabCAD: grabcad.com/library/eiffel-tower
6/8 Edit: I 've uploaded the non schism variant as well - EiffelTowerTALL.stl - for folks that need to download the uncut version to play around with..
- Download STL files (eiffel1.stl, eiffel2.stl)
- Print (Its rather a challenging print - took about 20 hours)
- Paste Eiffel2.stl on top of Eiffel1.stl.
I slit using Cura (https://github.com/daid/Cura/wiki). One thing to notice is that the slicer didn't find the perpendicular portions of the railings (as revealed in the picture with black arrow) , so the flat component was sort of hanging in atmosphere (As seen in the picture of print on auto).. but it was only 4-5 layers, so I didn't care.. Only removed those sequences after.. I consider should you play around with Cura settings or alternative slicer settings like nozzle size, you can even get the perpendicular railings to print..
